Come And Sail With Us

Your Journey Starts Here

Sailability Illawarra

After a `Come And Try` day in 1997, it was decided that a Sailability branch should be started in the Illawarra region. The new Committee immediately began a funding drive, contacting local companies, service organisations and fundraising groups to pay for our own Access 2.3 Dinghies.

We now operate a fleet of HANSA 303's and 2.3's supported by our safety boat. We have hosted the HANSA NSW State Titles, and in 2017 the first ever Southern Cross Championships. Click here to find out more

Our Sailing Days

We sail out of the bottom level of the Illawarra Yacht Club. For our updated sailing calendar.

Volunteers Are Always Welcome

Sailability Illawarra are always looking for volunteers to train in Rescue Boat operation, or to help rig the boats at the beginning of a sailing day, or put them away at the end of the day.We also need volunteers to assist people in an out of the boats, as well as sail with people in our two-seaters, or help with the BBQ. Our Dinghies

Sailability, Illawarra operate a fleet of Hansa dinghies. The range of Hansa sailcraft were originally designed to appeal to that huge majority of the world’s population who would love to have a go at sailing, but find it too difficult or uninviting to do so. Click here to find out more
